Re: Submachine 9: the Temple
My opinion: The statues are deity representations of Murtaugh and Elizabeth. In Sub9 you can kinda figure that a cult was formed around Murtaugh and Elizabeth. Not a bad cult, but just a group of followers of their doctrine. Shiva chose Murtaugh for some particular reason, and Murtaugh chose Elizabeth as his guide, since she was closest with him, since they both lived in the lighthouse.
I guess its almost like the son of God in the Christian religion. Its how the basis of Christianity was formed (really not trying to start a religious debate here, but bear with me)

Re: Submachine 9: the Temple
That makes sense. It leaves open the possibility that parts of Murtaugh and Elizabeth's history were distorted by the cult, so that we still don't know the entire truth about it.

I hear you too, in fact anyone ever watch Stargate Universe?
Simply put, they ran into their ancestors of their possible alternate path.
Their ancestors were 1,000 advances from them, since the crew "other-self" accidentally got sent 1,000 or so into the past.
My point is, over the course of a 1,000 years, the original crew of the Stargate Universe ship Destiny, their simple jokes, their petty differences, were blown out of proportion over the course of a 1,000 years of trading stories to the point where there were two different religions forms over one side of the petty argument, and another of the opposite side.
All of that, all of that region, debates, conflicts, and such of the likes, came from a simple disagreement between two people that was really nothing to those two people on the ship.

Re: Submachine 9: the Temple
Something interesting I took note of is the game series I'm attached to at the moment Assassin's Creed. Now the two series are nothing alike, but the plot line is something interesting. Take Submachine we are replaying events that have happened. That was confirmed. The same goes for AC, each game the character you are, you are reliving their past, their experiences. You are basically viewing ancestral memories of the player. Their memories extracted from genetic coding. (Its actually called genetic memory if anyone wants to google that, interesting subject)
There was a facebook post a few years back by Mateusz and he said that we are watching the player from the fourth wall, if anyone remembers that? That is where I got the idea that we are just reliving the actions of a person from the past.
So the entire idea of this "network" and exiting the network, may just be that. We are inside this gigantic machine reliving the past, for some particular reason and now we are going to exit this machine.

Being a Stargate fan I haven't heard of this particular establishment... I'm disappointed. But anyways, that is an interesting take on how simple things, turned into a cult of personality.I hear you too, in fact anyone ever watch Stargate Universe?

Re: Submachine 9: the Temple
Lol I was just reading my Memories of Murtaugh theory
http://submachine.wikia.com/wiki/Gemini%27s_Theories (Down the list a bit)
I think I have another theory in mind... maybe an extension to MOM. I'm also changing the name of False Reality, still haven't figured the name yet.

I hope this helps.Gemini wrote: Being a Stargate fan I haven't heard of this particular establishment... I'm disappointed. But anyways, that is an interesting take on how simple things, turned into a cult of personality.
offtop/ - The series was only two seasons, and was a spin-off of the sort, but it gain allot of fans because of how they were going to discover the existence of something that shouldn't exist before the universe was born.
Me and my mother watch them on DVD back in the winter, since she is a big fan of Stargate. And I wanted to say something about SG-U, but I didn't cause I just figure not many people would understand what I was saying without seeing that show.

Re: Submachine 9: the Temple
Did you also happen to notice the symbols on stone in the beginning of the game, where we placed karmic water into the brass bowls, and also placed a brass bowl onto the stone, are featured in Sub5, and also are in Submachine Universe, most notably in room 580 (cutely named the end room) and the sub location Photographer's Quarters?ENIHCAMBUS wrote:So I just realized "Donut" device in Sub1 and the Brass Pedestal where we place the Brass Beatle serve the same porpuse.
Now why would karmic symbols be in The Root for?

They're same style, similar to how the golden seals are reminicent to Sub3 runes.
