I think all of them.
Especially ourselves (The Player), since until Sub 9, we don't see anyone.
No Bones, no Blood, no trace of remains. With the only thing reminding us we are not alone is the notes left behind.

With nothing but the sounds of the Void, Subnet, Root, Core, and whole to remind us we are still here.
Otherwise, how do we know we are here? Maybe that what happen to some other people. They forgot they were there, and they simple faded outside of the realms which reside in the Submachine. Gone. With the Oblivion to mark their final resting place.

I've counted about two blood references in the whole series (three incl. Sub2 sketch)

If we are going with sub 9, I don't think blood has any sand textures grains in it. Salty or not, I know. I enjoy the taste of my own blood.

I was referring to the stain seen at the bottom of the screen near the brass hole in the gray section of the Pyramid. I think we can all agree that any other red substance is some sort of resin. But there still is that small spot though. (Someone else posted a picture of it I think)
