Now no balls to Mr. Officer, because the rest of the intro is a great idea, but I sort of dislike this letter.
First of all, the wrong check is used here, it should be 'a cheque for 1 million dollars.'
Secondly, 1 million USD seems an excessive sum for a clinical trial, I suggest a sum of $5,500.
Thirdly, the overall grammar and presentation is unprofessional.
I guess I am asking your permission to rewrite this letter.

I read the document, how much of is written in stone by now and how much is still being decided? Puzzles, backstory and similar gameplay elements are the only areas in which I could contribute.

For now, nothing is written in stone, everything can change (to better, of course XD), at least in this development phase.

Also, Mr. Officer is not in this forum yet, so he can't give his opinion, but I believe he won't mind that much if you edit his story, and after all we have to make an effort to join all the stories and give them some structural sense, so I think you can go ahead

2. What will the the format of the game (flash, .exe, html5?)

And I think that only Azareus is able to give you edit rights, you have to tell him your gmail account.
