Subnet=Outer Rim+Core. The edge is "barrier" between core and outer rim.

from our long discussion about Outer rim, Core and Subnet, when Mateusz said that (Subnet = Outer Rim), but later (When Vortex asked Mateusz in Facebook) we decided to call Subnet as union of Outer Rim and Core. And you get this information from...?

Re: Submachine 6: the Edge
What specifically is the reason you say the edge is between the Core and the Outer Rim?Sublevel 102 wrote:from our long discussion about Outer rim, Core and Subnet, when Mateusz said that (Subnet = Outer Rim), but later we decided to call Subnet as union of Outer Rim and Core. And you get this information from...?

Re: Submachine 6: the Edge
The Edge is edge of Outer Rim. Not?
This is true. At least if I understand rightly.the edge (of the and the outer rim) encircles it?

Re: Submachine 6: the Edge
But there would be two edges, the inner and the outer. Which one was it? I don't remember if we reached a conclusion....
if there's not conclusion yet, we should take advantage of the fact that Mateusz is online more often and ask him :B

Re: Submachine 6: the Edge
Of course the Edge is inner edge. Outer Rim is still expanding, and outer edge is still expanding.

Re: Submachine 6: the Edge
I thought that, until Gemini told me Mateusz had said the contrary... :/
but still it's the most logical option.
Anyways, Mateusz, we have a question!:
Is the edge like in 1), or like in 2), or both? Or none of them?

Re: Submachine 6: the Edge
Then evidence, as I see it, points towards the outer edge being the one we've seen. Allow me to elaborate:Sublevel 102 wrote:Of course the Edge is inner edge. Outer Rim is still expanding, and outer edge is still expanding.

We know that the secondary defense system protocols control the turret chain, which we know to be in the Edge we've seen. Now, we've seen a relatively clear indication of it's location in the infestation graph: it says "sds -tc" - "secondary defense system - the core". Further, Mateusz has called the edge a peripheral structure. Although that can refer to its computery nature, I think it is more likely that he meant that the edge circles the subnet.
EDIT: I am, of course, aware of the possible counter arguments, such as that the edge was somehow "in the way" and stopped Murtaugh from entering the core and then there is the whole infinite Outer Rim debacle. There are possible counter-arguments but I think I shall not dwell into those in depth.

Re: Submachine 6: the Edge
Hey... I always though it was "secondary defense system - turret chain"it says "sds -tc" - "secondary defense system - the core".
I'd think the edge somehow comprises both edges, because one would be required to block access to the Core from the outer rim, and the other is consistent with some info from Mateusz and the games. But let's see if he answers this question... he is online now!Further, Mateusz has called the edge a peripheral structure. EDIT: dammit, he's offline XD

Could be. That actually makes more sense (not to mention a much better point). I must admit though, sds might mean subnet defense system as well.OnyxIonVortex wrote:Hey... I always though it was "secondary defense system - turret chain"it says "sds -tc" - "secondary defense system - the core".
