Why do you think it won't?
The Temple in Sub 9 were allot of things we thought it could possibly be before it came out.
And it turned out fine in the end. Way more grander than any of us could possibly imagine.
Remember at the end of Sub9 where we revisited the mover in the third layer?

I don't have a problem revisiting locations and I have a feeling that will happen in Sub10. I think that was made clear at the end of Sub9 by revisiting the mover. We are going backwards, we are retracing our steps to exit.

And no I don't think the entire game will be us going from Sub8 locations to Sub1, I think there will be entirely new locations, but sense of familiarity with locations will remain the same. Granted, the locations we visited in the past installments, and if we do visit them again in Sub10, I think will be vastly changed.

Remember the chronotron from Sub6? That's what I'm getting at. I think everything we have seen is the past, and now we are going enter the present/future, and then exit.

fun fact:

through all these years, each time when I replay Sub3 (every day :P), after reaching last level I always make the same scheme:
- screaming "f*ck the note! Suuuuuuuuuuubmachineeeee!"
- solving the puzzle
- pressing the button with "for the Suuuubmachineeeeee!" scream
- making dying sounds when screen goes black
- getting bad ending
- remembering future games (Sub4-SubX) and screaming "noooooooooooooooooo! I want to see all this!"
- entering password and stepping back to the game
- "So, note? Ok Ok OK"
- reading the note and solving statue puzzle
- getting good ending
