At some point, someone somewhere suggested that a thread open up to serve as "inspiration" for future subnet updates. So this thread will be sorta like the "Awesome Pictures" thread in General, but it's geared specifically toward pictures that remind us of Submachine. It also can be used to submit pictures that we feel we would like to see being referenced in the series' future.

When you submit, it would be great if you had any additional thoughts about the images to leave a line of text or two explaining what made you think to include the image (if it's not obvious), but don't feel pressured to add any text at all! However, if there is any real-world information on the image (who created it, where it was taken, etc.) please include that stuff.

One day, the shifts in the subnet suddenly became more drastic. In the space of a few seconds, two cities were brought together that had been light-years away from each other in three dimensions, millenia apart in time, and trillions of sub-units apart in the subnet's other dimensions. One city was far more advanced than the other in every way. The buildings of the city of the future towered over the city of the past. The small village had once been the most populous town in its sector of the subnet, but now its population was microscopic compared to the metropolis it had been so unexpectedly dropped next to by the natural forces of the subnet.
