Automatically and making an optional backup copy of old version(s), I meant. Just version checking would be easier to implement anyways.

About the updates, I think the best thing would be to integrate something like a new version detector in the zip, that warns the player when there's a new update (even better would be to update it automatically). Maybe someone here who knows enough programming could do it.

Well.. I was going to explain how we could use MD5 or SHA1 or some crazy encryption algorithm, but it's really as simple as this:

Code:
// This is pseudocode!

// This should be done on Mateusz's server:
let "revision" be 457  // or some other version
write "revision" to file "subnet-revision.txt"

// This should be done by Flash on the user's computer:
let "my revision" be 450  // or whatever the current version is - this would be stored in the flash SWF
let "update revision" be contents of URL "http://mateuszskutnik.com/subnet-revision.txt"
if "my version" < "update revision" {
    remind user of update
}

Basically a revision number is stored on Mateusz's site, and the Subnet flash file fetches that number and compares the SWF's own revision number to it. If the SWF revision is less than the online revision, that means there's an update and the user should be reminded of it.

But... What for?

Notification? I notify people on forum and FB, twitter.

Well, I assume you aren't going to notify people of every small bug fix or change. I imagine a small automatic notification in the game's main menu with a text like "There is a new version (4.5.whatever) available here" would remove the need to announce it manually every time. It might not be necessary but IMHO it makes for a better user experience to have the game tell you directly rather than having to go to your FB/Twitter to check for possible updates.

Newest update is online (theory tweaks for Jatsko and Navy Officer + two minor bugfixes).

Also:

I put Subnet on itch.io as well.
Let them host it. :D

:O

Will it be automatically updated now and then with new versions?

as long as I update the zip files on their server - yes. :D

But you'll still have to download it manually.

No, I'm not.
I'm only notifying you here, the core fanbase.

other people can discover updates on their own.
