It was a joke Sublevel, I was rather interested that you liked the new things happening to the forum and like the new ideas while you really like Mateusz old stuff. It is no big thing.
When it comes to not deleting stuff, it has happened before on the forum without notice of the poster via the admins. I am for the deletion of old threat's, but this is not new. Just had to get that off my chest. I like ant's approach, if you would edit it, it wouldn't be a... document? In a sense. Altering history on the forum has had it's dark moments, sadly. I think, it would be good to take a look at who created some small threats that was a dead end and ask these people. Now this forum isn't to active but I believe it would be possible. That is just me.

in case if you guys after collective voting for some unknown reason will decide to delete all threads marked with "delete/offtop" insterad of moving them to some subfolder, then tell me - I will backup them.
Or I should backup them now...

For what it is worth, about 99% percent of the threads have been Waybacked. There might be some that I've missed, but I've been plenty thorough. Some of the longer threads have holes - off-topic and randomness come to mind, but, like, I've systematically gone through all fourteen pages of the general discussion forum and tried to make sure every thread is saved.

If you wish to help me re-check, please do.

So what I'm seeing is that there are 2 main topics from the proposal that are being discussed:

Motion to Reorganize into Sub-subforums
4 active people support the current proposed layout (Ant, Apoc, Emp, Sublevel)
1 active person detracts from the current proposed layout (Ko9)
1 active person did not voice an opinion (Reed)

Motion for Ability to Delete Threads marked "delete pls, delete/offtop, offtopic"
5 active people support having this ability (Ant, Apoc, Emp, Ko9, Reed)
1 active person detracts from having this ability (Sublevel)
0 active people did not voice an opinion

How about three weeks from now, we vote on what to do about the above discussed topics. I think a month to garner responses is a good enough amount of time for people who are genuinely interested to voice their opinions. Does that sound good to anyone else?

Re: delete/offtop threads, I think:

a) having them gone and cutting down on the amount of stuff to sift through for people to talk about what they want to talk about is more practical than keeping them around "for the sake of history". I'm not a believer that every word that someone chooses to write down is above an "importance standard" so that they should be kept. If you do believe that "everything should be saved" then I'm prepared to ask you about specific topics and scenarios for you to justify why the examples should be kept as opposed to thrown out.

b) waiting to ask opinions of original posters of these threads will result in this never getting completed because some forum members haven't even logged in to the forum since almost 3 years ago.

Also if you have time check through the threads we're going to delete just in case there's something in there you want to make a case to save.

@Ko9 another thing: I don't really know what to do with your threads about all Submachine and CF notes translated into Dutch. As I recall there's a Dutch version of at least the Submachine Wiki so maybe at least the Sub list should go there instead? They're not really posts that generate discussion as much as they are just listing information. The Wikis seem like a better place for that kind of thing.

As before, I'm encouraging other forum members to add their opinions, and there are other things that we can start discussing too. For example, creating a M-A-T v0.5 thread and some other organization things in subforums besides GenDis.

EDIT: clarification that I only am suggesting the Submachine Dutch notes go on the SubWiki.

Then I would like to hear what people thinking about my proposal for the layout. I think I will make a list soon (within the 3 weeks) about the treads that I created that I would like to stay there and being deleted. I agree that some members will never come back but I think that was a part of the discussion in the stream of the SU dilemma.

I think the 3 week range should do the trick.

I do not believe you get Ant, Apoc. I think Ant wouldn't, if I re-call correctly, like the existing ones being merged or parts deleted. I am not sure about both because I think both of them (Again if I re-call correctly) are the ends of a longer range of things to do.

Adding the Dutch Covert Front notes to the Dutch Submachine Wiki would be so wrong. I do not understand you even wanting that to happen... You are an admin of the English Submachine Wiki and I believe you can see that. I like the last part you said, saying that there is no discussion, and more just information. That is interesting, so I would like to choose one of these (I am just a member of the forum and I would like to hear other opinions than these two) I would like it deleted (I would archive it before and I would like Ant to add that to a giant list of waybacks, I do not think there is a conclusion there but I could do it to, or a data part of the forum. I see for both arguments for or against.

And I hope I worded my arguments well in this discussion. And I would really like someone wording his or her... or IT thoughts about my ideas of the organizing of artists and then their projects.

I am pretty much entirely anti-merger. It just brings confusion to older discussions, which is the opposite of what we want to achieve. I am not sure the mergers are particularly necessary either. I mean, the suggested mergers are mostly of small, relatively unimportant threads anyway and after the re-categorization there won't be as much clutter to shift through anyway. The suggested merger and deletion category is quite small already. We can discuss those details after we actually have sorted these threads.

I do have a new suggestion: Instead of merging or deleting the Kinematograph thread, rename it to Kinematograph and make it the official Kinematograph thread and move it to "other works by Mateusz" or something like that. I don't think we have one, do we?

I'm not sure I understand completely what you want to propose, and this is partially because you lumped it all into one giant paragraph and are plastering it with ellipses (...).

Use periods. Proper sentence structure. With stuff like this we can't afford "word clouds". Take time to go back through and make it readable just from a basic sentence-making standpoint. This is a new thing for you that I don't want to develop into a habit.

What do you want in your "music subforum"? Where is it going to go? Is it a regular subforum like "general discussion" or is it a sub-subforum (a subforum inside a subforum)?

Is your "other Pastel games" forum for non-Mateusz developers a subforum as well, existing on the same level as "theories and suggestions"/"the Submachines"/"general discussion"/etc.? I guess I don't see anything negative about it being a subforum, but I think it works well as a sub-subforum because the number of threads and replies is frankly not that big. As for dividing that forum further into groups by individual non-Mat creator, I don't like that. There's guaranteed not enough threads or discussion available to warrant further dividing everything down.
Ko9 wrote:Adding the Dutch Covert Front notes to the Dutch Submachine Wiki would be so wrong. I do not understand you even wanting that to happen...

That was a grave wording error on my part; I have no intentions of doing that, but the way I worded it definitely made it sound that way. I fixed it.
Ko9 wrote:And I hope I worded my arguments well in this discussion.
One thing you need to work on with these replies is make clear what you're talking about, especially when you switch from one thought to another. Like here (which can also be a separate paragraph):
Ko9 wrote:I like the last part you said, saying that there is no discussion, and more just information. That is interesting, so I would like to choose one of these (I am just a member of the forum and I would like to hear other opinions than these two) I would like it deleted
Nowhere is it explicitly clear that you're talking about the Dutch note lists. Even though people can figure that out by scrolling back up, mentioning it can help tie your reply together. It also becomes harder to read when you refer to them entirely via pronouns. You could do something like:
Ko9 wrote:Regarding the notes threads, I would like to choose one of these to delete.
And then say which one (presumably the Covert Front one if there's no Wiki space available for it, I would assume). Now you're actually mentioning what you're talking about and it's much easier to read.
Ko9 wrote:I see for both arguments for or against/That is just my opinion
Leave stuff like this out. You often write variations of this as well at the end of whatever you're arguing, and it's frustrating because it comes across as though you're trying so hard to weigh every opinion equally and "see both sides" that you end up making whatever you argue for look weak. It's okay to take a stand on one side and say "I would prefer this would happen" and not immediately undercut it with "but I understand if other people want to do this instead". Don't be scared about it. This entire topic is about making decisions, so you can do without trying to please everyone when you're putting forth your own opinion on something.

Also, before I go crazy, it's spelled t-h-r-e-a-d. Not "threat". Not "treat". I even gave a slight hint for you how to spell it in my last reply and you resorted to using "tread". If I didn't know better, I'd think you were trying to be defiant. :P

@Ant

The Kinematograph suggestion is good. I don't think I originally properly checked out what it was about.

When you talk about this "anti-merger" stuff, are you still referring to the "delete/offtop" threads, or the threads I suggest "combining" with others (in which case I'm going to use "combine" still since I was here first >:/), and if it's the second, are you referring to just GenDis or the other subforums as well?

Thanks for your answer @apoc. First I would like to make a list of threads I made I would like deleted, or moved:
Topis I made that >I< wouldn't mind being Deleted:
Ko9's theories
Submachine CD
u m a m i
All Submachine Notes (No Secrets) From 1 to 10 in Dutch (The info was moved to the wiki, I would still like to get a chance to talk about the covert forpont one)
January 2018 Fanart Poll
Blackhaube Youtube channel
Complaining for not having a GF (Why did I even make that one ><?)
Skype Chat (Kinda hypocritial since IU am not part of it anymoar.)
PUZZEL 666 PUZZEL (Oh my god, spelling mistake in the flipping title)
September 2017 / Fanart Poll
Audio and Recordings
Blackhaube Fanlocations
The Third Aesthetic
Blackhaube Submachine T-Shirts (I believe there was a page for shirts to it could be moved.)
Voice Acting In TBG?
MISSION TO MOTHER EARTH TOMMOROW!!!! DECEMBER 23st.
If it could be recreated.
Covert Front 4 Beta Sketches
Storyline of Submachine
Super Secret Preview of things that never came.
Meating a Submachine Person In Real Life (Should be moved)

So to the parts of your comment:

I am sorry for writing so many dots, it's kinda a personal response to the parts I did not like about myself before I moved away for a while. I think I was to full of myself. So I still have trouble communicating that. If you don't mind, I would like writing another proposal, in another comment, not to make this one to clotted.

As you can see about the Sub_notes, I moved that already and I do not mind it being deleted. But even after the edit you do not really propose another place for them.

When it comes to communicating, in real life I always make thought jumps, thanks for the constructive criticism, but this is off topic.

I am against you criticizing me looking at both sides when I have an thoughts. I think it is rather good to do so, but I am not perfect (as writing this I realize I am doing the thing you dislike when I address disagreeing you disliking it)
